Technology has always played a part in industrial development. Now, innovations in cloud computing, data analytics, blockchain, artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things (IoT) are driving the latest generation of manufacturing. Also known as Industry 4.0, smart industry draws on real-time data insights combined with integrated IT and operational technology (OT) systems to drive efficiency, resilience, and flexibility in manufacturing.Data lies at the heart of smart industry, making the industrial IoT's role pivotal. Manufacturers gain real-time insight into their operations by collecting and analyzing data from sensors across manufacturing and industrial sites. These sensors can collect data such as vibration or temperature, capture and analyze images, or detect the location of moving items. And by integrating IT systems, such as enterprise resource planning (ERP) with OT systems, manufacturers can act on this data in real-time.Benefits include identifying when equipment needs maintenance, undertaking AI-based quality control on production lines, and retooling machines in real-time to personalize products based on changing customer requirements. These benefits can extend beyond a single factory and company. By integrating data with the wider supply chain, companies can predict demand, switch suppliers during disruption and ensure product traceability from raw materials to the finished product.The network plays a crucial role in collecting and processing data, both inside and outside of the smart factory. Factories and industrial facilities are often challenging environments for networks. They can be in remote locations, and the significant presence of metal structures can make optimizing wireless networks difficult. Factories will typically use multiple networks for different requirements, including 5G, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, IP VPNs, LTE, LoRAWAN, satellite, and industrial networks like Modbus, Serial, DeviceNet, Profibus, Fieldbus.Security is a prime consideration for smart industry, with cybercriminals targeting smart facilities for extortion, espionage, and disruption. These attacks can come from either IT or OT systems because of the increased integration. Securing this converged environment requires segmentation of systems and collaboration between IT and OT teams.<h5>Orange offers a wide range of devices and equipment suitable for smart industry deployment. The ZTE U10e is a state-of-the-art portable 4G LTE router designed to meet the mobile connectivity needs of professionals, travelers, and demanding users. As a mobile hotspot, it offers a flexible and high-performance solution for transforming a mobile network signal into a private Wi-Fi access point, allowing multiple devices to connect to the Internet simultaneously. This compact and elegant device features a minimalist design and integrates cutting-edge technologies to ensure a smooth and stable user experience, whether for streaming high-definition content, remote work, or online gaming. Its portability and long battery life make it an ideal companion for any situation where a wired connection is unavailable or unreliable.
Advanced Technology and Connectivity
At the heart of the ZTE U10e is its ability to harness the power of mobile networks. Compatible with 4G LTE Category 4 standards, it enables theoretical download speeds of up to 150 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 50 Mbps. This performance is essential for bandwidth-intensive applications, ensuring fast data transfers and lag-free browsing. Furthermore, the U10e is equipped with Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), a major evolution from previous standards. Wi-Fi 6 not only offers higher speeds but also more efficient network capacity management, allowing up to 32 devices to connect at the same time without significant performance degradation. It also supports older Wi-Fi standards (802.11b, g, n), ensuring backward compatibility with all your devices. This dual connectivity (4G/Wi-Fi 6) makes it an extremely versatile networking tool.
Industrial and R&amp;D Use Cases
The ZTE U10e is not limited to consumer use. Its robustness and features make it a valuable asset for various professional and industrial applications. In the research and development (R&amp;D) sector, it can be used to establish temporary or mobile connections for sensors, prototypes, or test benches in the field. Engineers and technicians can thus collect real-time data from isolated locations without having to deploy complex network infrastructure. For businesses, the U10e is ideal for nomadic workers, construction teams, or pop-up stores that need an instant and secure Internet connection. It can also be used as a failover solution in the event of a primary Internet connection outage at a remote office or site. Its compatibility with a nano SIM card, including eSIM technology, enhances its flexibility for international deployments or managing device fleets.
Design and Battery Life
One of the key features of the ZTE U10e is its removable 2000 mAh battery. This capacity provides several hours of continuous use, which is perfect for long trips, outdoor meetings, or temporary events. The device is also equipped with a USB Type-C port for fast and modern charging. Integrated LED indicators on the casing provide essential information at a glance, such as battery level, 4G signal strength, and Wi-Fi connection status. With dimensions of 108 x 59.8 x 18.9 mm and a weight of just 93 g, it slips easily into a pocket or bag, embodying the quintessence of mobility. The device includes security features such as a reset button and the ability to set up a guest network, ensuring simplified and secure connectivity management.&nbsp;
